Our client, a large government department, requires an EL1/2 Grants Officer to join the team immediately on a 12-month contract. The role will be based in Sydney CBD and paying $106,183 - $144,837 + 15.4% Superannuation.

The clients team liaises with Universities across Australia who are providing free tax agent services to individuals and small businesses who may not be able to afford those services otherwise.

Due to the team being geographically dispersed, they work closely with Universities to provide advice and support in solving issues their clients are facing. The aim is not only to assist the individual client but identify where issues could be more systemic.

The EL1/2 Grant Officer is responsible for the development, approval, publishing, and implementation of formal grant documentation in line with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines. The candidate will contribute to the running of the Clinic program by meeting regularly with colleagues and building capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing the open competitive grant program framework with external stakeholders
  • Development, approval, and execution of grant agreements and grant deeds with external stakeholders
  • Coordination with other departments to implement the open competitive grant program framework
  • Draft grant agreements and/or grant deeds
  • Ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines are followed

Key Requirements:

  • End to end management of grants
  • Design, development and managing other peoples grant submissions
  • Background within the public sector or Not for Profit is advantageous
  • Understanding of Commonwealth Grant Rules, if previously worked with Department of Finance
  • Experience developing and implementing grant programs at a Federal Government Executive level
