About the role:

The EL1 Service Designer is responsible for design and deliver Scheme service improvements to provide quality participant outcomes and enhance their Agency experience. You will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. It will provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Create and document a baseline understanding of the current state service by employing design research to identify current business processes.
  • Create and facilitate process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis.
  • Facilitate design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test the future service
  • Ensure service experience is based around participant and staff needs.
  • Provide expertise and support the product owner to elaborate user stories, acceptance criteria and process maps.
  • Provide assistance to the product owner with the use of system tools.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design at both a conceptual and tactical level.
  • Develop blueprints and designs of the proposed service to guide build teams.


  • Extensive experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
  • Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams across varied skillsets on large projects
  • Experience in delivering service design blueprints and associated deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience working with a service industry, with an end user process
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Experience working with a service industry, with an end user process
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one.
