About the Team:

The Communications and Engagement Business Partners Branch supports all areas of the Agency to effectively communicate and engage with external and internal audiences and stakeholders.

About the role:

The EL1 Senior Project Officer will be responsible for performing project management and supporting activities to contribute to the development and delivery of projects in line with established objectives.
 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to a team delivering timely, innovative, efficient plans and activities that support the Agency Corporate Plan objectives.
  • Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and monitoring project plans.
  • Assist with activities that ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, meet quality standards and are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Apply the Agency’s established project management methodology—the Project Delivery Framework.
  • Preparation and maintenance of project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and to contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.
  • Communication with key stakeholders and coordination of working groups and committees to facilitate the exchange of information and to support delivery of the project.
  • Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.
  • Deliver a range of project management and support services within tight deadlines and using limited resources to manage competing priorities.
  • Administrative tasks such as arranging meetings, taking minutes and following up actions will also be required.
 
MANDATORY
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Experienced project professional with experience in end-to-end project delivery.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator including reporting and briefing documents.
  • Confident and capable relationship builder able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experienced schedule management including development, management, tracking and updating schedules.
  • Ability to forecast impact, identify risk and determine mitigations for project slippages.
  • Experienced in issue and risk identification, evaluation and management methods.
  • Able to work within a bespoke project delivery framework.
  • Well organised and delivery focussed in all deliverables including administrative types of tasks such as meeting arrangement, publication of minutes and approvals management.
  • Willingness to pitch in and assist with essential activities to ensure delivery is successful.
  • Skilled in the use the Microsoft suite of software particularly MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint,
  • MS Teams and MS Word.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
Desirable skills to have for the role:

  • Experience working for Government organisations.
  • Advanced MS Word skills including document creation.
  • Experience delivering corporate reports.
  • Editing skills.
  • Accessibility skills.
  • Plain English skills.
  • Experience with relationship management of suppliers - obtaining quotes and confirming production timeframes.
