About the role:

The EL1 Project Manager, Claims & Payments Implementation is responsible for establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships to improve the payments control environment. You will coordinate and assume responsibilities to undertake detailed and sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the Agency’s objectives.
This role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Develop, manage, and implement project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
  • Contribute to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
  • Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time.
  • Research, review and evaluate projects in specific operational or technical areas.
  • Report on project outputs to stakeholders and overseeing regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Prepare and review written material including business cases, plans, reports and executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Identify, assess, manage, escalate and monitor project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
  • Analyse project performance and coordinating quality management activities to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
  • Set strategic direction and priorities for the portfolio area in line with Agency priorities and national/branch action plans.
  • Develop and deliver optimisation initiatives to support service improvement and performance in line with strategic objectives
 
MANDATORY
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Project Management experience
  • Analytical leadership (problem analysis and problem solving)
  • Process leadership (planning, communication, results)
  • Capacity to work independently
  • Able to work in an environment of change and ambiguity
  • Stakeholder engagement & negotiation
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
