Our Federal Government client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join them on a 12 month assignment based in Richmond or Geelong. 

The EL1 Project Manager will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on strategic or operational outcomes.

The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to;
  • Maintaining understanding and knowledge of the Agency purpose, priorities and reforms.
  • Defining project work plans and supporting project leads in progress, monitoring and reporting against milestones and deliverables.
  • Managing the governance of the project against Agency frameworks and escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Ensuring project workforce coverage and managing the project estimating activities.
  • Maintaining project artefacts including project management, change and risk plans, budget, resourcing, scheduling and performance
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:
  • Experience in project management and/or leadership within a government organisation 
  • Proven high quality, articulate stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to liaise with non-project staff in coaching and change management 
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement with a pragmatic approach to ways of working 
  • Understanding and/or experience in standard PMO functions 
Desirable skills: 
  • Ability to demonstrate the development of reporting at an executive level with excellent eye for detail.
  • Appreciation and acceptance of changing of priorities to meet the needs of the program (and its participants) – often the requirement to pivot.
  • At least competent across all standard PMO functions – with deep focus on reporting, risk and scheduling.
