Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Policy Officer on a contract until June 2021.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development of policy in aged care context, including by:
    • Analysing and synthesising information from a broad range of sources;
    • exploring options and identifying potential solutions;
    • identifying and leveraging interfaces with relevant work across the department and other agencies to develop 'joined up' approaches;
  • Assisting with the preparation of key policy documents, such as new policy proposals and costings, scoping and options papers, briefs and other written material;
  • Stakeholder liaison, particularly inter-agency engagement; and
  • Assisting with project management activities and potential procurement/contract management to inform policy scoping and development.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in policy development with strong strategic, analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality briefs and other written material of a complex nature;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • A strong track record in achieving results and delivering outcomes, including a demonstrated ability to show initiative, manage competing priorities to meet deadlines, and proactively identify and resolve issues; and
  • A demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
