About the role:

The EL1 Business Analyst is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and may be required to represent and negotiate on behalf of the Agency to advance the Agency's interests across a range of forums. Additionally, you will provide detailed technical, professional, and operational support and advice in relation to complex problems as well as coordinate and assist in contributing to highly complex, sensitive projects or work programs aimed at achieving the agency's mission.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Review current business processes to create a clear understanding of and document the current processes
  • Create and facilitate process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis
  • Provide program/stream level analysis and producing required analysis documentation
  • Provide expertise and support the Product Owner to elaborate on user stories, acceptance criteria and process maps with the input from SMEs
  • Provide assistance to Product Owner with the use of internal systems
  • Evaluate effectiveness of proposed solutions and design
  • Lead transition of business requirements over to build teams for development
  • Support verification testing of the built solution to ensure alignment to business requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Business Analysis or similar (eg. Business Management, Business Development, Data Analyst etc).
  • Demonstrated experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Preparing business analysis specification to help elicit effective and timely decision-making to enable service design work within the program
  • Experience working within an Agile project environment
  • Stakeholder management experience, particularly in determining business readiness criteria.
  • Preparing business analysis work plans for the service design sprints component of work and other deliverables
  • Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current Police Check, or ability to obtain one.
