Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage EL1 Assistant Director Transition Communications and Engagement for a 12 months assignment with potential extension in Adelaide CBD.

About the Team
The Transition Communications and Engagement Branch provides engagement and communication solutions and advice to support the NDIA to deliver NDIS projects.
The branch lead development and implementation of multi-channel engagement and communication strategies to support key projects across the NDIA and drive engagement with key internal and external audiences.

About the Role
The position is an important team leadership position within the NDIA and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.
The position is required to coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive project tasks that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA’s project objectives to improve how we deliver the NDIS.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of projects and business improvement initiatives, driving the strategic and co-ordinated management of targeted communications and engagement activities.
  • Leading staff to deliver timely, innovative, efficient and evidence-based communications and engagement strategies, plans, content and activities that support NDIA Corporate Plan and project objectives.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders within the NDIA, guiding the team with best practice ways to provide advice, quality assurance and support to business areas to meet their communication objectives.
  • Managing and optimising internal and external communications and engagement channels to reach intended audiences.
  • Utilising reporting metrics to review the impact of communication and engagement approaches, identifying areas of overlap and key gaps to continue to refine and improve plans and strategies.
  • Identifying and mitigating reputational risks associated with communication, engagement and project activities.
  • Fostering creativity and innovation in content creation across a range of channels, sharing best practice and new skills in the team.
