About the role:
The EL1 Assistant Director Strategy, Communications and Innovation (LGBTIQA+) is an important team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. You will provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for team members and contractors.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of policies and strategies that will improve the service experience of LGBTIQA+ participants, their families and support networks
- Determine strategic direction for the work area and align longer-term planning with agency goals, values, and objectives to promote the Agency’s commitments of the LGBTIQA+ Strategy
- Develop complex policies, plans and strategies that require a detailed analysis of diverse research, data and views
- Provide strategic leadership through secretariat support for the Internal Advisory Group
- Coordinate implementation of Scheme reforms and changes and business improvement strategies for LGBTIQA+ people with disability
- Prepare reports, briefing papers, speeches, Ministerial correspondence and discussion papers for review by Senior Executives.
- Manage the development, review and continuous improvement of communications products and resources that promote culturally safe, inclusive and respectful practice of front-line staff and Partners in the Community
- Provide specialist knowledge and expertise on new and innovative approaches to engaging with LGBTIQA+ people with disability and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to improve the way we engage with LGBTIQA+ people with disability and other stakeholders
- Provide advice and support on policy management, strategic planning, reporting and forecasting to identify priority areas for team direction, engagement and issues management.
- Represent the Agency in stakeholder interactions and public facing events, delivering messaging and ensuring opportunities for representation for LGBTIQA+ people with disability, their families and carers, community, mainstream and diverse cohorts of stakeholders.
MANDATORY
- Extensive experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
- Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- The Agency Worker Screening Check. This is only applicable to some positions within the Agency that require the occupant to have access to classified Australian Government information.
- Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
