Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage EL1 Assistant Director Strategy - for a 12 month assignment with potential extension in Adelaide CBD.

About the Team
The Strategy Branch develops and delivers highly complex and significant outcomes, projects and work programs that have strategic and operational impact to the Agency in delivering better experiences and outcomes for participants. It is responsible for addressing critical issues of Agency impact including leading Agency-wide teams and integrating multiple perspectives to solve Agency issues. The branch ensures priorities and solutions are transitioned into action, for delivery by the relevant implementation group.

About the Role
The EL1 Assistant Director Strategy (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the NDIA.
The position is required to coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”.
The EL1 Assistant Director Strategy (Labour Hire) will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the functions. The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA’s interests across a range of forums.

Key skills required for role:
  • Ability to solve complex problems and lead workstreams with limited oversight from the project director.
  • Project management skills.
  • Delegate and supervise team members and oversee quality of work produced.
  • Ability to lead consultations and workshops as required

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Gathering and developing structured insights and recommendations for strategic projects.
  • Developing fact based quantitative and qualitative analysis including modelling in Microsoft Excel.
  • Creating materials for senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Minister, Board and Executive Leadership Team to communicate perspectives, recommendations and implications for the Agency.
  • Presenting recommendations and facilitating discussions with a range of Agency stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Developing action plans and ensuring stakeholder alignment to enable successful implementation.
  • Developing content to embed change, including authorship of policy papers and guidance materials.
