About the organisation:
Chandler Macleod is proudly partnering with a government organisation that aims to support a better life for Australians living with disabilities, their families and carers. The EL1 Assistant Director Risk Advisory will within a branch that supports the Agency to identify and manage risks through facilitating improved risk awareness and training.

About the role:
The EL1 Assistant Director Risk advisory is a team membership position that is responsible for resolving complex issues and risks posed to the Agency and stakeholders, as well as providing support to the team leadership in the planning and coordination of the team.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing informed risk advice on emerging issues impacting allocated portfolios by leading and facilitating risk discussions and workshops to identify, assess and control risks.
  • Monitoring and analysing trends in mitigating risks, including risk treatment plans used to minimise potential exposure and harness opportunities.
  • Developing, maintaining and implementing risk policies, plans, frameworks and guidelines.
  • Leading the development and maintenance of operational risk registers.
  • Undertaking risk management and assessment activities within an allocated context e.g. strategic, operational and program or project.
  • Preparing and reviewing written material including plans, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation.

About you:

Ideally you will have relevant education and experience in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations, as well as:

  • Fully vaccinated to be able to work in the office
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks
  • Have proven experience implementing work plans, setting tasks and priorities, and managing workflow
  • Ability to make decisions with considerable complexity and sensitivity
  • Provide accurate and specialised advice ensuring knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks
  • Show strong initiative and originality when developing and modifying approaches to tackle issues
  • Communicate effectively and negotiate with clients and stakeholders while prioritising cooperation and collaboration
