About the role:

The EL1 Assistant Director Executive and Corporate Communicationsis responsible for provide independent advice to Agency on the delivery of the Agency for the diversity of Australians with disability their families and carers, to ensure that the voice of people with disability is recognised and valued.  You will be primarily responsible for the facilitation of the Agency’s corporate governance processes through the provision of secretariat support to the Council and ensure that the Council fulfils its statutory obligations. Additionally, will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the Agency’s objectives.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of projects and business improvement initiatives, driving the strategic and co-ordinated management of targeted communications and engagement activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through a communications and engagement business partnering model within the Agency, guiding the team with best practice ways to provide advice, quality assurance and support to business areas to meet their communication objectives.
  • Lead staff to deliver timely, innovative, efficient and evidence-based communications and engagement strategies, plans, content and activities that support Agency Corporate Plan objectives.
  • Use reporting metrics to review the impact of communication and engagement activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare high-quality, clear and accessible written content that meets the needs of participants and other audiences and aligns with the Agency brand.
  • Scan and interpret a complex government and social landscape to identify and mitigate reputational risks associated with, communication and engagement activities.
  • Identify and mitigate reputational risks associated with communication, engagement and business activities.
  • Foster creativity and innovation in content creation across a range of channels, sharing best practice and new skills in the team.
MANDATORY
  • Extensive experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
  • Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Working with Children Check. This is only applicable to some positions within the Agency that require the occupant to have access to classified Australian Government information.
  • The Agency Worker Screening Check. This is only applicable to some positions within the Agency that require the occupant to have access to classified Australian Government information.
  • Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one
