Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Assistant Director Executive and Corporate Communications on a contract for 12 months.
Position Overview
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Continuous Improvement
Originating action to improve existing conditions and processes; identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas, and implementing solutions.
Building Customer Relationships
Ensuring that the customer’s internal or external needs are met; building productive relationships with high-priority customers; taking accountability for customer satisfaction and loyalty; using appropriate interpersonal techniques to prevent and resolve escalated customer complaints and regain customer confidence.
Building Talent
Planning and supporting the development of individuals’ knowledge, skills, and abilities so that they can fulfill current or future job responsibilities more effectively.
Planning and Organizing
Establishing an action plan for self and others to complete work efficiently and on time by setting priorities, establishing timelines, and leveraging resources.
Coaching
Engaging an individual in developing and committing to an action plan that targets specific behaviors, skills, or knowledge needed to ensure performance improvement or prepare for success in new responsibilities.

- Contributing to the strategic direction of projects and business improvement initiatives, driving the strategic and coordinated management of targeted communications and engagement activities.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders through a communications and engagement business partnering model within the Agency, guiding the team with best practice ways to provide advice, quality assurance and support to business areas to meet their communication objectives.
- Leading staff to deliver timely, innovative, efficient and evidence-based communications and engagement strategies, plans, content and activities that support Agency Corporate Plan objectives.
- Using reporting metrics to review the impact of communication and engagement activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Preparing high-quality, clear and accessible written content that meets the needs of participants and other audiences and aligns with the NDIS brand.
- Scanning and interpreting a complex government and social landscape to identify and mitigate reputational risks associated with, communication and engagement activities.
- Identifying and mitigate reputational risks associated with communication, engagement and business activities.
- Fostering creativity and innovation in content creation across a range of channels, sharing best practice and new skills in the team.
- Relationship management
- Strategic communications advice, planning and development, preferably with an internal focus.
