Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Director - Technology and Procurement on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.

Role Description

The Technology and Procurement team maintains, supports and delivers a diverse program of work for internal stakeholders at the Commission.

Technology

  • Lead a small team of APS staff with operational responsibility for ICT operations and records management.
  • Shape the partnership with the Commission's ICT shared services provider involving oversight over account and access management, standard operating environment, on- premise application management, communications (incl. telephony and video conferencing), file and document storage, project management, IT security, IT service management, the gateway, and remote access.
  • Engage in external governance fora (e.g. PM&C IT Architecture Board).
  • Interpret whole of government and agencies policies and apply them in a fit-for-context manner at the Commission.
  • Maintain enterprise architecture, platform architecture, digital strategy, cyber strategy, and ICT hardware.
  • Apply the agency's risk management framework and embed a positive risk culture.
  • Oversee ICT operations using a variety of management tools (e.g. Kanban and program management record).
  • Supervise the triaging of problems and incidents experienced by users, both on-site and remotely.
  • Oversee the record keeping function and provide support for Freedom of Information requests.

Procurement

  • Lead a small team of APS staff and contractors with operational responsibility for advising on procurement approaches, supporting approaches to market, and contract management.
  • Oversee the consistent application of the Commission's procurement framework.
  • Engage with the Chief Finance Officer, Chief Risk Officer, General Counsel and Delegates approving and committing relevant money as required.

Major Deliverables

  • Whole of government reports, surveys and information requests (e.g. ASD cyber survey, DTA data collection, Harradine, Checkup-Plus).
  • Strategic artefacts (e.g. enterprise architecture, digital strategy, cyber strategy, position papers).
  • Internal reporting through to various governance fora (e.g. Executive Board, Executive Committee, and the Audit and Risk Management Committee).
  • Program of continuous improvement in the technology and procurement functions.
  • Internal communications to support the implementation of change.
  • Value created through partnerships with the Commission's ICT shared services provider and other key stakeholders.
