We are currently recruiting for a a DfMA Senior Project Design Manager for our client, a NSW Government agency based in Sydney CBD. This is an initial 12 month contract with possibility of extension with a daily rate of $1100 per day including super.

The DfMA Senior Project Design Manager works within the DfMA team who's purpose is to be the subject matter experts in Design for Manufacture and Assembly and Design Standardisation of Schools and to lead, educate and assist project teams and their consultants, with the implementation of DfMA and design standardisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the DfMA Senior Project Director as well as the broader project teams (Infrastructure Planning and Infrastructure Delivery) to successful manage the implementation of the standardised design and DfMA principles for projects.
  • Ensure the full appraisal of DfMA design options and facilitate proactive identification of value-add DfMA design and innovation in collaboration with the full project team, EFSG Design Advisory team and SLEC, while maintaining the design intent and fostering an environment for DfMA design excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with key project participants including the DfMA project team, Design Consultants, Cost Planners, and project management team to support the application of design standardisation and DfMA.
  • Facilitate the DfMA design process from Concept design through Detailed Design in the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase to proactively manage the resolution of DfMA design issues.
  • Coordinate the briefing of the Design Consultants prior to commencing design work in regard to the Project Brief, Development Program, Design Standardisation / DfMA principles and Cost Plan.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated superior skills in all aspects of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) design management and implementation.
  • A minimum 5 - 8 years industry experience on large projects across any sectors utilising DfMA process and approaches, BIM implementation and parametric modelling
  • Promote and demonstrate a culture of excellence, collaboration, communication and innovation which is open and transparent at all times to foster trust and encourage a shared understanding of design standardisation and DfMA principles with all internal and external professional stakeholders
