About the role
We are partnering with the principal supplier of water, wastewater & drainage services in WA to secure the services of an experienced Design Engineer (Water Infrastructure) who is responsible for, undertaking engineering work to assist in the provision of quality planning, definition, design and commissioning co-ordination services for an infrastructure design function. This assignment will cover a period of 6 months, on a Monday - Friday roster on a 38 hour week based in inner city offices.

Key accountabilities of the roles will include:

  • Undertake the role of Design Manager for assigned projects and review outputs and performance for conformity to agreed requirements, standards, time and cost.
  • Plan and manage the development and delivery of complex designs and reports for the solution and engineering problems using in-house or external resources.
  • Prepare briefs for engagement of consultants; evaluate consultant proposals and makes recommendations.
  • Ensure that the definition and design, and ongoing monitoring of definition, design and tender document performance of consulting engineers is within agreed time and budget constraints and incorporates innovative technology and world best practice.
  • Manage the preparation of tender documents and undertake tender analysis.
  • Deliver engineering designs or advice for the solution of engineering problems using in-house or external resources.
  • Provide advice to and liaise with internal customers, external suppliers, service agencies, consultants, industry regulators and agencies in relation to infrastructure design.
  • Maintain focus on continuous review and improvement of quality processes and best practice design and feed into lessons learnt process.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following:

  • Degree level qualification in a related engineering discipline.
  • Considerable water related professional engineering experience
  • Relevant experience in engineering planning, definition and/or design of infrastructure assets and/or field practice in the functional area to which this position is attached.
  • Relevant experience in the investigation and analysis of project proposals
  • Has sound knowledge and understanding of relevant issues facing the water industry in Australia.
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of the Water Corporation's infrastructure project management principles and processes
  • Provide a current National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one
  • Provide a current Drivers Licence
