Our client is seeking an AHPRA or AASW registered mental health professional with experience in the use of DBT and/or a passion for working with clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder, self-harming behaviours and/or chronic mental health conditions suited to DBT interventions.

About the role:

  • As a DBT therapist working in our counselling team, you would be responsible for screening and assessing clients for suitability to participate in individual and group DBT programs; providing guidance to our 24/7 call centre clinicians who are delivering crisis phone coaching for clients engaged in the DBT program; offering evidence informed interventions to a caseload of clients with complex needs; and supporting the facilitation of group treatment programs.
  • Undertake professional development training to advance your skills in this, and other areas of mental health intervention.
  • Access to regular professional supervision with experienced practitioners in your field of practice.

About you:

  • Full AHPRA registration in a mental health field (i.e. psychologist, mental health nurse, occupational therapist) or AASW registration (social worker).
  • A minimum of three years' experience providing evidence informed mental health counselling or group program facilitation.
  • A passion or interest for working with clients with complex needs who are best suited to DBT interventions.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, demonstrate drive, integrity, flexibility and be solution focused.
  • Eligibility for a QLD working with children Blue Card.

Highly desirable:

  • Accredited training in DBT (introductory or advanced level).
  • Experience in the facilitation of treatment and psychoeducational group programs.
  • Experience working with Australian Defence Force members and/or their families.
