Customer Service Officer

An opportunity exists for an experienced Customer Service Officer to join one of Australia's leading supply chains based in South East Melbourne. Collaboratively working with the branch, transport and planning teams this role assists in the fulfilment of customer requests as per our service agreements in a timely manner for the delivery and / or pick up of products from company sites.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Officer is to:

  • First point of contact with customer
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external customers
  • Provide a high level of customer service to our customers adhering to our service agreements
  • Handle inbound/outbound phone calls for Domestic/Residential, Distribution, Project and Shed customers - Delivering efficient and professional services
  • Respond to customer quote requests
  • Assist as required with the checking of orders to enhance the accuracy of delivered product
  • Liaise and co-ordinate order entry, bringing immediate attention to any anomalies
  • Adhere to Cut Off times, making sure all work received beforehand is entered by close off
  • Investigate errors, damage, credit claims and promise hits, as required
  • Resolve customer complaints as they arise

Required Skills/Experience

  • 1-2 years of relevant customer service or sales experience
  • Experience in a contact centre, call centre or similar environment
  • Experience working to targets and/or KPI's
  • Certificate 3 or above in customer care/contact an advantage
  • Diploma in Contact Management
  • Proven capacity to engage and influence key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills at all levels
  • The ability to understand the needs of the customer
  • Collaborative and people orientated, highly skilled at partnering with organisational functions to achieve outcomes
  • Flexibility, adaptability and an ability to pivot as necessary to optimize outcomes
