About the role
We are partnering with a renowned organisation, to secure the services of an experienced professional to perform the role of Cost Controller. This assignment will cover a period of 12 months, on a 2:1 FIFO roster.

This position provides for the collection, collation and reporting of cost and quantity data related to the project. This allows for the evaluation and forecasting of progress and assists with the control and forecasting of the project
Duties:

  • Collect and collate cost and quantity data and enter that data in the appropriate format into the Construction Management System (CMS) and other software (e.g. Excel spreadsheets) as required.
  • Enter payment certificates and other financial data into CMS.
  • Test and examine the CMS data and provide forecasts for the project work packages. The analysis will examine any deviations from the budget and plan and provide reasons for the deviations and suggestions for corrections where budgets are exceeded.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports as required. The regular reports will cover progress and costs and final forecast cost at completion. They will include but not limited to QMR reports, Progress S-Curves and Trends.
  • Maintains close contact with the relevant Contracts Administrator to ensure that the contract data is correctly reflected in CMS.
  • Contributes to and reviews the scopes of work and contract conditions.
  • Assists with claims evaluations.
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of Project Control documentation

    To be successful in this role, you will require the following work experience:
  • At least 3 years within a similar position
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with integrated computerised financial systems
  • High level organisational skills, resource management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, work autonomously and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with extensive analytical and problem solving skills

    Ideal candidates must also hold the following prerequisites:
  • Provide a current National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one
  • Provide a current Drivers Licence
