We are seeking a Coordinator - Library Collections and Digital Services to join the Coffs Harbour Library team as they transition into Yarrila Place in the heart of the Coffs Harbour city centre, scheduled to open in mid-2023. This exciting new building will include a central library over three floors with dedicated spaces for Children and Youth, as well as a new combined regional gallery and museum, and a range of program spaces including the arts workshop, a Makespace, and Digital Creative Studio. Coffs Harbour Libraries also include branch libraries in Toormina and Woolgoolga.

Reporting directly to the Service Leader - Libraries, this role will lead the team managing the library collections, digital services and resources, ensuring continued currency and relevancy of collections. A key aspect of the role is supporting and developing team members with a focus on technical skills, customer service, change management and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring to the team

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated people leader who has proven experience leading and managing diverse teams. It is essential that you are collaborative and possess exceptional communication skills ensuring effective participation from all stakeholder groups to build trust, balance expectations and influence in an ever- changing environment.

You will possess a degree qualification in Library Science or equivalent as well as,
  • Provide advice to senior leadership on policy and planning in relation to library collections and digital services issues, staff, and resources.
  • Develop and maintain a Library Collections Plan to guide collection development activities, prioritisation and investment, monitoring, evaluation, and teamwork plans.
  • Manage and monitor operations, procedures, systems, and equipment to ensure streamlined delivery of all print and digital collections and services, including the preparation of relevant reports to satisfy operational and statutory requirements.
  • Manage financial matters as they relate to the Library Collections and Digital Services, including budgets, grant applications and administration, fund sourcing and authorising, monitoring, and reporting on expenditure.
  • Produce and analyse statistical performance data to drive decision making.
