Position title: Construction Works Manager - (5G - Telecoms)
Contract Estimation Duration: 6 Months + (Confirmed 6mth rolling extensions).
Company Type / Size: Commercial / Tier 1
Location: Sydney - WFH and Site-based
Salary / Rate: Up To $770 PD (incl. super)
Purpose of this position:
Responsible for the implementation of Site Design and Construction Works process.

General Requirements:
Key tasks:

  • Ensure correct cost calculation completed in Tenders. Sales packages & items used as per guidance from Global Service Line. Information sharing with Cost Manager
  • Evaluate and document local country conditions for project construction works
  • Prepare and update risk analysis for Construction Works in project
  • Make sure proper localisation of global CW service Items, CW standard documents and CW standard processes
  • Co-ordinate with Site Acquisition & TI team for development of model sites and site designs to ensure all local issues are considered
  • Support Procurement with subcontractor selection
  • Ensure CW resourcing properly considered and planned. Follow up ROM and subcontractor resourcing levels to check actual follows plan. Prepare and implement corrective action
  • Prepare CW RFQ and content, including needed specifications for use by Procurement
  • Support Procurement in CW partner/subcontractor discussions and negotiations
  • Ensure proper CW documents in customer and partner/subcontractor agreements
  • Support project manager in writing Quality Plan related to CW
  • Ensure CW scheduling is determined based in country information
  • The Client interface for CW subcontractors/partners. Responsible for following up their performance with Procurement. Arrange and/or contribute to meetings as needed
  • Participates in progress meetings and provides CW reports
  • Make sure all The Client tools in proper use and updated with current data for CW
  • Co-ordinate work with other The Client service lines in projects. Ensure CW activities meet project requirements
  • Ensure document control and storage system set up and used properly. Check file system and audit content of document system to make sure all documents prepared properly for site handover
  • Ensure any legal documents securely stored
  • Set up document control process and then ensure proper use in project document
  • Interface with customer's CW manager to review and discuss progress and resolve site acquisition issues
  • Support CW training for partners with Procurement
    Education:
  • Technician or B.Sc. in construction works related
    Experience
  • Background in construction works management & 5+ years' experience in telecommunication projects. Ability to manage teams and work in customer interface
  • General understanding of The Client project management concept; site construction issues; construction legal issues and contracts. Financial understanding, ability to compare construction partners and construction tenders.
