Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Compliance Policy Officer on a contract for 12 Months, with potential extension.

Position Overview

The Senior Compliance Policy Officer will lead the design and coordination of an integrated and targeted compliance program. The officer will engage with colleagues, co-regulators and stakeholders to prepare and coordinate implementation of an ongoing, targeted inspection program by Inspectors, initially of the national residential building industry.

In addition, the officer will design an integrated compliance targeting strategy across all regulated sectors, such as online shopping platforms (building from existing practice); review the compliance posture in the context of audits of other regulatory schemes; complete a review of compliance team with the Australian Government Investigations Standards, and develop polices and guidance material and standard operating procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analysing and evaluating past and current activities and policies, including best-practice compliance targeting strategies
  • Report and briefing preparation, prepared to government standards
  • Stakeholder engagement to inform targeting
  • Collaborating with a small team of case workers, inspectors, investigators and intelligence analysts
  • Assist with logistics of the inspection program
  • Contribute to the development of education, communication and stakeholder engagement material and activities
  • Review/develop polices/guidance material and standard operating procedures

Knowledge and experience- highly desirable

  • Prior experience working in the design of targeted compliance activities
  • Prior experience in regulatory project management, evaluation and reporting

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
