Chandler Macleod is working with a crucial Federal Government Agency to source several Community and Peer Advisors to join them on a 12+ months contract.

Invitations are invited from Peer Advisors with varied levels of experience who have lived experience and tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in mental health.

The position of Community and Peer Advisor requires someone with lived experience of mental illness and Australian Defence Force (ADF) service. The position entails using one's lived experience to respectfully support and educate consumers and stakeholders about recovery oriented practices and community support services. The role will work as part of the Open Arms Care Coordination Team.

The position entails working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders so as to enhance Open Arms ability to identify and respond to the needs of vulnerable and at risk veterans, current and former defence force members and/or their families.

The role takes a strengths-based, recovery approach to supporting vulnerable and/or at risk consumers to foster wellbeing, incorporating the development and maintenance of community relationships and the provision of direct support to individuals and/or their families.
