Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Communications Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension for 12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The applicants are expected to have a collaborative approach to working in a dynamic and fast moving environment. environment to deliver high-quality advice and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and develop clear, accurate, targeted and timely communication material
  • Ability to establish clear plans and timeframes for outcome delivery, with consideration to broader projects and organisational areas of focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively undertake stakeholder engagement, identifying and capturing key information to support communication activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and gain a sound understanding of the departmental/business group work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and develop individual and broader outcome based goals, strategies and work plans, identifying broader factors, trends and influences that may impact.
  • Ability to harnesses information and opportunities, identifying what information is important and how it should be used in regards to communications development and effective channel distribution.
  • Ability to support the SDO's shared purpose, vision and organisational objectives through identifying the relationship between organisational goals and operational tasks, and effective communications and stakeholder engagement.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Baseline security clearance.
  • The applicant must be Canberra based.
