Our client is a high profile non-profit industry association which represents the tourism industry to government and consumers.

The Communications Officer will assist the Corporate Affairs Manager with the communications, and marketing activities of the business, as well as provide executive support to the Corporate Affairs Manager and CEO.

This is an entry level role and attracts a salary of $55,000 per annum plus super.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communications and Marketing
  • Assist the Corporate Affairs Manager with marketing and communications activities
  • Drafting and implementing communications plans
  • Writing media releases, compiling newsletters and other communications
  • Coordinating public relations activities
  • Social media plans and activities
  • Industry marketing
  • Website management
  • Assist the Corporate Affairs Manager with consumer marketing to promote members
  • Assist the Corporate Affairs Manager with relevant reporting activities
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to the CEO and Corporate Affairs Manager
  • Coordinating calendars and appointments,
  • Preparing meeting arrangements and documents

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent written communication skills, including ability to draft media releases.
  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or similar.
  • Interest in current affairs, policy, media and government.
  • Adept at social media and digital communications.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks independently and successfully.
  • High level of attention to detail, organization and prioritization.
  • Enjoys collaboration and working in a small team environment
