The Opportunity
Chandler Macleod is looking to engage a Communications Officer to undertake activities and work across a range of projects and operational priorities to deliver a professional, responsive communications service for a Federal Government Agencies internal and external stakeholders.
This position will start immediately and is a contract term until March 2022.

Job Specification
Essentially this role will see you develop and edit content for the website and other digital channels; manage media related administrative and research tasks; and deliver other communications and engagement projects and BAU.
Further to this your daily duties will consist of:
1. Preparing accurate summaries of agencies decisions that are suitable for a variety of audiences
2. Leading the production of the agencies external monthly e-newsletter, featuring decision summaries and other relevant content about the AAT, and involving detailed internal approvals processes
3. Monitoring media activity - including fact-checking, record-keeping, researching and drafting responses to media enquiries
4. Assisting with the implementation of stakeholder engagement activities, including organising meetings, liaison with external stakeholders and preparing briefings
5. Preparation of other digital communication products, as required
6. Establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal stakeholders, including members of the senior leadership group, to support the work of the area

About You

  • Demonstrated communications experience, including highly-developed writing, editing and proofing skills and digital communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to determine own work priorities in support of strategic objectives and to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to supervise and develop team members, including leading by example, mentoring and providing constructive feedback on performance
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, including the ability to reflect on own performance
  • Tertiary qualifications or professional experience relevant to communications and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and be eligible to obtain Baseline security clearance and comply with pre-employment background checks.
