Our client AGL Energy are seeking an experienced Communications Lead to join them on a contract basis in Melbourne CBD. This will be an initial six months contract with a potential to extend for longer.

Key purpose of this role
Reporting to the AGL Telecommunications Change & Communications Manager, this role will deliver effective communications that support our change agenda and connect people with our vision in ways that build engagement, pride, community and commitment.

Key accountabilities of this role

  • Develop content and communications strategies to support key program and product activations and announcements, ensuring that all communications systems, goals and messaging are introduced in a consistent and practical way.
  • Develop communications materials including content for internal social and digital channels, video, employee town halls, presentations, announcements and speeches.
  • Build and develop an employee engagement plan and manage internal team events.
  • Provide stakeholder advice and assistance to improve communication outcomes for the Telecommunications team.
  • Proactively identify communication gaps and delivery high quality solutions and improvements.
  • Proactively escalate potential communication issues and provide advice on program, stakeholder and employee messaging.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders working in cross-functional teams.



Qualifications, key skills and experience required

  • Proven experience as a Communications Lead working across large and complex initiatives.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies.
  • Experience developing communication materials for a diverse audience.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and effectively manage time and prioritise workload.
  • An understanding and experience of digital media, including intranets, sharepoint, video and visual communications would be highly regarded.
  • Advanced MS PowerPoint and MS Work skills.
