Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Communication Officer on a contract until June 2021, with potential extensions of 12 months.

Position Overview

Communication Officers support the delivery of marketing and communication solutions. Working as part of a team, you will help design, develop, implement and evaluate marketing and communication content. You will give general advice to stakeholders and may help with research, event management and project management. While you will work under the support and general direction of senior staff, you need to use judgement and your skills and knowledge to make decisions and recommend solutions. You need to plan your work by managing competing priorities. You will also contribute to changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Help design, develop, implement and evaluate content, communication plans and products.
  • Provide advice and interpret communication processes, guidelines and policies.
  • Identify issues and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve and/or escalate for resolution.
  • Help scope stakeholder requirements and maintain relationships to deliver effective communication outcomes.
  • Contribute to business improvement and best practice.
  • Help to create, schedule, coordinate and publish communication content.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have (or be able to obtain and maintain) a Baseline clearance.
  • A degree or diploma with a major in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing or possession of recognized skills, cadetship or relevant experience that the delegate considers appropriate to the duties of the position.
