Chandler Macleod is currently seeking experienced Collections Officers to join our client based in Hurstville. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with the flexibility of hybrid work from home arrangements. As a Collections Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts and working towards financial targets while ensuring compliance.

Location: Hurstville, with hybrid work-from-home opportunities
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities:
  • Take prompt action on accounts and efficiently manage your own work portfolio
  • Consistently work towards financial targets while maintaining compliance
  • Negotiate, implement, and monitor payment arrangements
  • Identify hardship language and potentially vulnerable customers, taking appropriate steps to implement suitable arrangements
  • Record and address any complaints, identifying potential triggers for complaints
  • Conduct skip tracing to locate third parties
  • Provide guidance and support to clients on account recovery
  • Prepare and submit reports to clients and managers as required
  • Identify accounts requiring attention or escalation to management
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of personal and corporate information
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a debt collector
  • Experience working for a credit provider or managing a secured and unsecured collections portfolio
  • Certificate III in Financial Services (Mercantile Agent) or willingness to obtain this qualification
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with debt collections software and document management systems
