Chandler Macleod in partnership with RDSA (Rockdrill Services Australia) are seeking an experienced CNC Cylindrical Machinist, to program, set and operate manufacturing components within the specifications of the drawings, instructions and or procedures provided.

This is a Monday to Friday - AM business hours - role, onsite in Heidelberg West.
Salary negotiable based on experience.

Key Accountabilities or Activities
  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings
  • Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials and semi complete parts in CNC machinery
  • Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
  • Understands, interprets and edits FANUC G-code programming
  • Recognises, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
  • Understands and has the ability to perform tool wear offsets
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
  • Utilizes and abides by production requirements and safety procedures
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions

  • Promote awareness of SHEQ practices.
  • Reporting of all SHEQ incidents.

    Knowledge & Skills:
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to production standards
  • Ability to use procedures and process documentation - ie: what is it, why do we have it, how do we use it to ensure machining product is of sufficient quality
  • Documents actions by completing production process sheets
  • Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms
  • Understanding of basic machining principles
  • Ability to set up and perform cylindrical Grinding operations
  • Knowledge of all safe working practice in the use of CNC machining and manual machining
  • Ability to use standard measuring equipment i.e digital Vernier, digital micrometer, scaled micrometer
  • Ability to document on how to carry out job, record tooling used, any critical dimensions noted etc as per the process sheets.
  • Clear and absolute knowledge of machining, quality levels expected of ProReman product, QC processes and tolerances

    Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:
  • Fitting and Machining Trade Qualification or tertiary equivalent
  • Current drivers' licence
  • 5 Years related experience
