Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Clinical Incident Coordinator on a contract until February 2021.

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a talented individual with incident management and/or Clinical experience, to help shape the future direction of support services within the client, ensuring Clinical decisions re at the forefront of everything we do. Sitting within the Operations branch, we manage day to day Incidents involving the Record including infrastructure, privacy, security and clinical risks. This position is responsible for the provision of Incident coordination and triage, governed by the client's Incident Management Framework, with a strong focus on Clinical Safety and adherence to the client's Clinical Governance Framework. The multidisciplinary role entails the use of excellent analytical skills, problem solving and clinical judgment with an understanding of business needs of different areas within the client. This role includes a 24x7 on call roster component to provide emergency incident response and requires the understanding of technology and business functions.

Additionally, within the context of the Clinical Governance Framework, this role contributes to activities aimed at ensuring Australia has a safe and robust digital health system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the seamless integration of functionality in connecting systems to increase the quality of functions and the user experience with the Digital Health infrastructure
  • Undertake incident response activities involving containment, remediation and restoration or services
  • As a subject matter expert, proactively identify and manage impact to clinical safety from incidents as part of incident response
  • Chair technical bridge calls with external stakeholders
  • Assist transition of incidents to Problem management and provide support to Problem management activities
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relations to establish a sustainable collaboration model for digital health integration products in Australia
  • Support business continuity planning, and the development and implementation of recovery plans as required
  • Develop, document and co-ordinate Operational Procedures and Clinical Incident management
  • service procedures to ensure appropriate service levels and quality of service are maintained
  • Proactively drive the implementation of the Clinical Governance Framework across all areas of incident management
  • Ensure timely production of quality executive level deliverables aligned with expectations of established governance arrangements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide quality Incident Management services
  • Provide reporting and data analysis relating to Incident Management
  • Support Incident Management functions on a 24x7 on call roster
  • Adhere to the Values and Code of Conduct
  • Other duties as directed


  • An understanding of business and technology demonstrated through industry and/or vendor roles
  • Experience in chairing business conference calls, collaborating with senior executives and a demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally
  • Experience in enterprise level operational environment incorporating business function and
  • technology is highly desirable
  • Experience in a clinical discipline is highly desirable, preferably in care scenarios where there are multiple facets
  • Health and/or My Health Record experience highly desirable, specifically contemporary experience of the Australian digital health sector
  • Experience in principles, processes, implementation and application of clinical governance, safety and incident management in a health care setting
  • ITIL and ITSM knowledge will be beneficial
  • Ability to support innovation in the application of technology solutions to complex business problems
  • An understanding of key issues for consumers and clinicians in relation to clinical risk management, quality and safety

Mandatory Requirements:

The successful candidate will be required to have (or be able to obtain and maintain) a Baseline clearance. Police check will be required upon commencement.
