Chandler Macleod has an exciting opportunity for a Classified Plant Engineer to join our client one of WA's leading Iron Ore Producers. This role has great long-term prospects for the right candidate, starting out on an initial 12 month contract with the potential to transition to a permanent role. You will be working an 8/6 or 4/3 roster FIFO from Perth to the Pilbara.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage site classified plant compliance
  • Communicate the requirements for classified plant compliance across the site
  • Manage auditing program
  • Reporting on classified plant compliance levels to management
  • Conduct classified plant inspections
  • Promoting a strong safety culture

To be successful in this role, you will require the following work experience:

  • Approved Classified Plant Inspector - qualification
  • Relevant Engineering or Technology qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Experience with inspections for EWP, cranes, pressure vessels, ropes and winches.
  • Sound mechanical knowledge of fixed and mobile plant
  • Ability to work autonomously with varying tasks, meet deadlines and achieve performance targets
  • Ability to record and maintain accurate information in accordance with organisational procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand and interpret Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 and the Mines Safety Inspection Act 1994, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations 1996
  • Experience with managing audit systems
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
