Our client is seeking to engage Claims Support Officers on a contract for 8 months.

Position Overview

The General Insurance business is accountable for the end to end servicing of General Insurance customers including policy acceptance and administration, servicing customer enquiries, underwriting, claims and customer complaints. The Claims team is accountable for the management of client's underwritten Home & Contents and Motor Insurance portfolios, processing claims in a timely and accurate manner. They provide a critical role in helping our customers secure their lives and families. Through times of loss and grief, devastating natural disasters (and sometimes just minor bingles and leaky taps), they are here to help support their customers and their families. Over the past 12 months they paid more than $1 billion in claims to their customers.

As a Claims Consultant, Managed Claims, you will be responsible for the provision of customer service to customers who have an open claim against one of their Home or Contents insurance policies. This involves the gathering of documentation and information necessary for the assessment whilst delivering excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive inbound calls via the Existing Claims line, providing customers with updates on the status of their claim and actioning any queries
  • Liaise with customer, suppliers and internal specialists, as appropriate, in order to manage claims process towards finalisation
  • Manage a variety of claim processes for our customers
  • Allocate work to Preferred Suppliers/Builders.
  • Obtain verbal proof of loss as appropriate.
  • Authorise repairs within delegated authority level, and policy and procedural guidelines
  • Finalise claims to delegated authority level and allocated category of claim.
  • Identify/refer claims to the recoveries process, as appropriate.
  • Refer where appropriate of suspicious claims to Investigations.
  • Refer claims outside delegated authority and allocation to relevant team/specialists.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a seamless experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • A passion for (and experience in) customer service
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated claims or case management experience in a fast-paced environment (preferred)
  • Understanding of or experience in a General Insurance environment would be beneficial (preferred)
