The Role:

The ultimate responsibility of this role will be to lead the strategic infrastructure planning and programs for water and sewerage infrastructure. This will include leading the development and implementation of the infrastructure strategies, master and detailed infrastructure plans, system optimisation plans and strategic and tactical asset management.
This role also leads and fosters innovative water planning expertise using a customer focused methodology.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Undertaking the development and implementation of strategies from water, sewerage and recycled was perspectives, considering a portfolio of innovative infrastructure and non-infrastructure solutions to meet growth objectives
  • Undertaking the development and implementation of water and sewerage master plans, feasibility studies, detailed plans and system optimisation plans to achieve optimum asset performance
  • Undertaking the development and review of water and sewerage components of the council's Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP)
  • Overseeing the network modelling program for water and sewerage systems
  • Managing the development assessment process for the water and sewerage infrastructure in partnership with the Council's Development Services Group
  • Research, investigate, analyse and write reports on a wide range of planning matters
  • Supervising a team of planning professionals within the planning and delivery group

About You:

  • You hold formal tertiary degree qualifications in civil, environmental or related engineering fields
  • You have experience in the development and implementation of water and sewerage infrastructure strategies, master planning, feasibility studies and detailed planning
  • You will have extensive knowledge in water and sewerage network modelling and the interpretation of these results in developing infrastructure plans and service level improvements
  • You will be able to showcase a demonstrable ability and experience of preparing detailed project proposals and business cases for programmed projects
  • You will have strong leadership experience and a high level of interpersonal and communications skills
