Chandler Macleod are currently seeking a Civil Design Officer for our Client,

Purpose:
To provide technical and advisory services and ensure the management of high quality capital works projects and develop, support and initiate sound asset management plans and principles.


Objectives:

  • Lead Project Managers undertaking project management services including contract documentation, administration and supervision services for the design and/or construction of road, drainage, bridge, traffic, transport and recreational infrastructure assets.
  • Model sound engineering practices and provide technical support and advice to council staff, consultants and contractors.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining asset management systems and associated systems.
  • Establish and maintain asset plans for all categories of Council's assets to support the needs of:

    1. Asset valuation and depreciation
    2. Strategic asset management
    3. Risk management
    4. Capital renewal/upgrade
    5. Maintenance management


    The Person:
  • Strong proven leadership experience across an interdisciplinary team, with the ability to lead from the front and motivate others
  • Solution focussed in the face of complex and complicated problems and able to propose solutions to achieve results
  • Attention to detail, well developed investigative, analytical and technical expertise
  • Intuitive stakeholder relationship management and delivering a quality customer experience in all interactions (internally and externally)


    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related discipline - Required
  • Current Class C drivers licence - Required
  • Current Work Zone Traffic Management - Required
  • Formal qualifications in Project Management or Asset Management - complimentary
  • Local Government experience in a similar role - complimentary
