The Opportunity

Due to the retirement of the current long serving incumbent, an exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the group, based in the lower Hunter Valley in NSW.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be tasked (as a key member of the leadership team) with overseeing the day to day running of the Group's treasury, accounting and finance functions. You will ensure full legal and regulatory compliance and minimise financial risk whilst maximising profitable business outcomes and opportunities for the Group.

Specifically this will involve:

  • leading and motivating the accounting and finance team
  • budgeting and forecasting
  • financial planning
  • stakeholder engagement and relationship management with external financial institutions, - foreign currency and hedging
  • auditing and financial review by internal and external services
  • accountability for the Group's insurance portfolio, and applicable government grants
  • overseeing all Group property, assets and IT systems.

You will utilise your networking and relationship building skills externally to forge strong alliances with financial institutions, auditors, and legal professionals.

Your Skills and Experience

This role will ideally suit someone with at least 15-20 years post grad finance experience (with at least 10 years at the CPA / CFO level), ideally working in a similar manufacturing environment. Candidates from industrial, engineering, transport, logistics, infrastructure and

FMCG industries will also be considered.

You must have:

  • CPA/CA qualifications or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of accounting standards, regulation and reporting frameworks
  • Strong team leadership, management, mentoring and motivation skills
  • Highly attuned influencing and negotiation skills
  • Professional, commercial and strategic focus
  • the confidence to propose and present new ideas
  • Proven success in leading teams through cultural change
