As the Region continues to experience significant growth, The Business and Performance Division of Port Macquarie Hastings Council are looking for a Change Project Specialist to support the organisational transformation vision which aims to enable and empower great service delivery, innovation, and community connection.

As the Change Project Specialist, you will have experience in delivering a variety of change initiatives that have contributed to a significant change program or transformation journey.
You will collaborate with all levels of the business to facilitate and manage a variety of exciting improvements that have been identified in developing the transformation roadmap. On a typical day, this role will
- Manage assigned transformation programs, projects and initiatives including scoping, planning, resourcing, stakeholder consultation and key project reporting, ensuring completion within required guidelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project teams using a co-design approach for transformation initiatives to develop innovative solutions that align with Council’s strategy and vision.
- Lead the effective design, implementation and evaluation of change management activities and strategic approach. This will include deliverables such as: cases for change, change impact assessment, risk assessment, stakeholder analysis, stakeholder and communications plans, training plans and transition plans.
The successful applicant will have outstanding personal attributes including personal drive and integrity, and possess Tertiary qualifications in a related field or extensive knowledge and experience in integrating project management and change management as well as:
- Strong communication skills - an effective communicator who can clearly and concisely articulate the need for change to stakeholders, including the benefits of the change, addressing concerns, and providing updates.
- Strategic thinking to develop a clear plan for implementing the change, anticipate potential challenges and plan accordingly to mitigate risks.
- Leadership skills to inspire and motivate team members to embrace the change, create a shared vision and provide guidance throughout the change process.
- Analytical skills to analyse data, make informed decisions based on the information available, identify trends and patterns; and use this information to inform the change plan.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust the change plan as necessary, as well as the ability to handle unexpected challenges and make decisions on the fly.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with team members, stakeholders, build relationships and create a sense of shared ownership over the change process.
- Critical thinking skills to identify and address problems that arise during the change process; and think creatively to develop solutions that keep the change process on track.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering successful organisational change and business improvement projects
- Proven record of high impact partnering and coaching senior leaders as change/project sponsors
- Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, implement and execute continuous improvement and change initiatives to sustain new ways of working
- Proven communication, presentation and influencing skills; and the ability to consult, negotiate and build productive working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence stakeholders to actively promote continuous improvement and manage change resistance.
