Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Case Manager on a contract for 12 Months.

Position Overview

The Complex Case Manager's role is to process complex children's passport applications adhering to detailed legislation, regulations and standard operating procedures. Managing complex passport applications provides some of the most interesting and rewarding work. The work can be unpredictable and requires a level of emotional detachment, resilience and personal awareness of conscious and unconscious bias. The position will work within a high performing team and all officers will be appropriately trained and supported.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex passport application cases in accordance with legislation, policy, and standard operating procedures often for people in difficult and/or confronting personal circumstances and/or who identify as a member of a sensitive demographic (e.g. surrogate families, adoptive families, same-sex couples).
  • Maintaining output in line with defined quality and performance parameters
  • Limited liaison with internal and external clients
  • Drafting Ministerial and Departmental correspondence relating to complex cases prior to submission to delegate for sign off (Canberra-based staff)
  • Provision of advice on routine interpretation of court orders, policy application, and procedures to the network
  • Advanced searches for people with parental responsibility as requested by the network
  • Responding to phone enquiries
  • Responding to Calls and emails from clients regarding complex child application matters referred by the Australian Passport Information Service (APIS)

Mandatory Requirements:

The successful candidate will be be able to obtain and maintain NV1 clearance.
