Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Case Management Support Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

Position Overview

The APS5 Case Management Support is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will provide policy advice within an area of specialization with advice based on policies and legislation.The role will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

The position works to effectively manage the intake and assessment of AAT matters and associated correspondence, including collation and filing of Tribunal documents within statutory timeframes. The APS5 Case Management Support also manages the requests for medical/functional assessments to support case managers, research and drafts responses to complaints/ministerial and other documents and actioning incoming correspondence. The APS5 Case Management Support works to support Case Managers in the branch in progressing AAT Applications to early resolution, conciliation and hearing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Researching and drafting responses for complaints, Ministerial and other documents as required.
  • Analysing and assessing AAT Applications received.
  • Managing the requests for medical and functional assessments.
  • Preparing and filing Tribunal documents as required for AAT Applications received by the AAB within strict time frames.
  • Assessing and responding to risk from processes, including in terms of privacy considerations and priority.
  • Provide technical expertise that contributes to business unit outcomes.
  • Apply innovation initiatives to maximise the benefits of change and contributes to the improvement in quality and efficiency of services.
  • undertake specialist or technical research and analysis, conduct investigations and provide advice on policies and legislation
  • Accountable for maintaining appropriate risk management programs
  • Work independently or under limited guidance in relation to their area of expertise. Complex or difficult issues are discussed with team leaders or experts.
  • Make decisions within defined parameters and set new precedents based on sound subject matter knowledge and professional judgement.
  • Identify problems or issues and resolve or establish treatments to mitigate.
