Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Career Liaison Officer on a contract for 6 Months, with potential extensions of 3X 6 months.

Position Overview

The Career Liaison Officer (CLO) provides an assigned caseload of participants the level of guidance and support necessary to help ensure their successful completion of the Program. The CLO also has responsibilities that contribute to managing relationships with participating agencies and Registered Training Organisations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide career development, guidance and support services to program participants, including apprentices, cadets and graduates.
  • With the assistance of the Career Liaison Lead and/or Talent Liaison Manager, resolve complex cases ensuring appropriate outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including participating agency representatives and Registered Training Organisations, providing advice on program guidelines.
  • Prepare written bi-annual reports on Digital Entry Level participants, and complete softcopy case notes for all participant catch ups.
  • Contribute to the development of team objectives and priorities.
  • Assist in the delivery of program events and functions as required, including Learning & Development, Networking, Graduation and Induction events.
  • Contribute to recruitment and the support of Assessment Centre's, including shortlisting of applications and chairing interview panels.
  • Respond to group e-mail box and Digital ELP Hotline enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Update Digital ELP records management systems as required.
  • Undertake other activities to support the Digital Emerging Talent team and Branch as required.

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication and reporting skills and demonstrated experience developing strong relationships with program participants, agency representatives, team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to liaise and work productively with people at all levels, backgrounds and beliefs.
  • Strong organisational skills, eye for detail, ability to prioritise. Ability to work independently and use of discretion when matters require escalation.
  • Empathy, flexibility, and patience are desirable personality traits for the Career Liaison Officer role. (Desirable)
  • Understanding of, or ability to seek an understanding of, the Government's digital capability needs. (Desirable)
  • Qualifications in Human Resource Management and/or Case Management. (Desirable)

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
