About the Role


As part of the Capital Projects team at AGL Loy Yang, the Capital Projects Manager is responsible for the scoping, planning, scheduling and delivery of project work in accordance with the assigned annual works portfolio.

In close collaboration with the Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams your project management expertise will be critical in meeting our operational and financial objectives and targets, and to manage a team of project managers.



Your key responsibilities will be to:


Work with relevant business partners and contribute to the development of the annual portfolio, while taking ownership for all aspects of portfolio delivery and implementation of the project management system

Have accountability for the delivery of a significantly sized annual portfolio containing approximately 100 projects per annum

Establish, implement and improve outage/project systems and processes, key focus points being behaviour and quality of project/outage leadership across own team (including contractors) and managing a transient workforce

Manage and embed all Health, Safety and Environment Systems and ensure goals are introduced and adhered to while meeting the organisations policies and standards for HSE Management

Lead a team in the disciplined application of the Project Management Framework to deliver assigned projects

Be accountable for portfolio delivery including the accurate financial forecasting and phasing across the annual budget

Be accountable for the timely delivery of portfolio reporting within the agreed weekly and monthly timeframes

Ensure work conducted by team members inside an outage period must follow the outage management framework and comply with the gating requirements of the outage





About You


To be successful, you'll have:

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline (or significant relevant experience) or Advanced Diploma (TAFE) with relevant industry experience or Trade Qualification

A strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environment and have ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, rules and regulations

Experience in project management within large scale plant operations, along with formal qualifications in such as Diploma of Management, Project Management or a Certificate in Frontline Leadership

Expertise in commercial, financial and risk management principles

Experience in the use of SAP and Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 is desirable
