Our State Government client is seeking to engage a Canteen Manager on an Ongoing employment basis.

About the Role:

Our Client is looking for Canteen Manager. The Canteen is currently open from 8.00am to 1.30pm weekdays and is experiencing an increase in customers accessing such services. Therefore, we are looking for a Canteen /Cook to take responsibility in all aspects of running the canteen.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be reporting to the Business Operations Manager and responsible for the following.

  • Cleaning of the canteen area e.g. walls, floors, appliances and equipment on a daily basis.
  • Daily stock control - keeping a record of all stock in fridges and freezers, as well as dry stock in the store area.
  • Accurately record on a daily basis waste product and the reason for the waste.
  • Manage any casual staff if required.
  • Create stock order reports and keep records of stock ordered and received.
  • Drain and clean commercial deep fryer as required but on a minimum of monthly basis.
  • Drain and clean bain marie as required.
  • Conduct daily reconciliation and complete associated paperwork.
  • Maintain a cash float and organise banking through the Business Operation Manager.
  • Prepare weekly balance sheet and reports to the Business Operations Manager.
  • Oversee all operations within the Canteen.
  • Check the temperature of the fridges at commencement and end of shift every day.
  • Hours are from 8.00am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Face to Face contact with Customers.
  • Working with suppliers to maintain relationships, problem solve and add value.
  • The role also contributes to keeping the overall site, safe, clean and presentable to customers.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • The person selected would need to have a "Food Safety" Certificate.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in customer service.
  • Great organisational skills and a good approach to work with an ability to work with others to make improvements.
  • Must hold a current driver's licence.
  • Be physically fit and able to undertake manual work.
