Our client is seeking to engage in a Business Services Officer to start ASAP to July 2023 with a possible extension. This role is based at Port Lincoln depot serving, Port Lincoln, Cleve, Ceduna, Wudinna & Streaky Bay.

An outstanding opportunity has presented itself for a Business Services Officer within the utilities industry based in Port Lincoln. The Business Services Officer will undertake a broad range of administrative support tasks and activities which contribute to the efficient operation of the HR department. The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for administrative support tasks and activities.

Role Purpose (Briefly describe what the role does and why is exists)

The Business Services Officer will undertake a broad range of administrative support tasks and activities which contribute to the efficient operation of single or multiple work group(s) or depot(s). The Business Services Officer may have either a small or large customer base and is the first point of contact for the workgroup staff and/or the public for administrative support tasks and activities. Key Objectives (Describe the results that are required to be produced. Typically no more than five objectives)

  • Accurate and timely input and production of reports (eg, asset register, over time), rosters, registers and equipment.
  • Accurate and timely booking, recording and reporting of training to ensure compliance with National and SA Power Networks requirements.
  • Ensure accurate entry of time data including allowances.
  • Ensure accurate bookings, ordering and payments of goods and services.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping (eg, archiving, electronic and hard copy filing).

Key Relationships and Areas of Influence (Describe the key interactions and select the areas of influence)

  • Group Administrator/Leader - provision of administrative support services
  • Work groups (Operations Supervisor, Field Employees, Apprentices, internal and external stakeholders/customers) - first point of contact for inquiries and administrative support and provide relevant information related to administration support tasks
  • External vendors (ie Training and Office suppliers) - booking / ordering goods and services

Role Specific Competencies (Must be role specific and not covered by the SA Power Networks Competencies overleaf. Please also specify required level: Skills - Basic, Routine, Competent, Advanced, Highly Developed Knowledge - Elementary, General, Working, Specific, Specialised)

  • Competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Competent planning, organisational / coordinating and time management skills * Competent skills in utilising designated IT software eg MS Office suite, SAP
  • General knowledge of pay rules as per SA Power Networks Enterprise Agreement
  • General knowledge of SA Power Networks Enterprise Agreement, policies & directives

Essential Role Requirements (Only essential/minimum mandatory qualifications. Typical minimum years of experience for job evaluation purposes only)

  • Driver's Licence * 12mths minimum relevant experience

What's on Offer?

  • Position located in based at Port Lincoln depot serving, Port Lincoln, Cleve, Ceduna, Wudinna & Streaky Bay.
  • Grade 2 $44.86/ph + super
  • Temporary contract to start ASAP till July 2023 with possibility to extend
  • Standard Hours or work - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm
