Chandler Macleod have an upcoming temporary assignment with our State Government client for experienced Business Coordinator. This assignment is conveniently located in the CBD and on a Monday to Friday roster, full time hours with possible overtime.

About the role:

The Business Coordinator is responsible for delivering a range of high-level customer-focused business, administrative and organisational support services for their assigned function. This role is required to develop a sound understanding of multiple stakeholder's perspectives, and ensure all interactions reflect a diplomatic and politically astute approach.

Qualifications/Special Requirements:


  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating administrative functions in a politically sensitive environment to senior government or private sector personnel and/or a high-level boards and committees
  • Experience in delivering high-level administrative tasks such as diary management, ministerial correspondence preparation and confidential HR processes
  • Experience in undertaking directed research and supporting data analysis and the delivery of projects that align to organisational outcomes
  • High-level proficiency in a range of software applications, especially Microsoft Office applications and records management systems
  • Knowledge of government administrative policies, procedures and systems including FOI, ANZ Basware and CHRIS21
  • Sound knowledge of, and practical experience working in, an executive environment including an understanding of government policy development, decision-making, management, and accountability of systems and processes
  • Certificate level qualification in a field relevant to the position, and/or substantial relevant professional experience

Special Requirements:

  • Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
