About the role

The position is a team membership position and has a concurrent requirement to resolve issues and risks across a broad range of activities of substantial depth involving significant detail and to provide support to the team leadership of their work area in the planning and coordination of the team. The EL1 Business Analyst is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and may be required to represent and negotiate on behalf of the department to advance the interests across a range of forums.

Key Responsibilities

Reviewing current business processes to create a clear understanding of, and to document, the current processes

  • Creating and facilitating process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis.
  • Providing program/stream level analysis and producing required analysis documentation.
  • Providing expertise and supporting the Product Owner to elaborate user stories, acceptance criteria and process maps with the input from SMEs.
  • Providing assistance to Product Owner with the use of internal systems.
  • Evaluating effectiveness of proposed solutions and design.
  • Leading transition of business requirements over to build teams for development.
  • Supporting verification testing of the built solution to ensure alignment to business requirements.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a generalist business-focused Business Analyst
  • The ability to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents.
  • Australian Citizen
