About the role
We are partnering with a renowned organisation, of whom specialises in Biodiversity within the resources sector, to secure the services of an experienced professional to perform the role of Biodiversity Specialist. This assignment will cover a period of between 12 - 24 months, based in Perth CBD. Reporting to the Superintendent Biodiversity, Rehabilitation and Contaminated Sites, your primary responsibility will be to assist with coordinating biological surveys to support environmental approvals.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist with coordinating all aspects of biological surveys including scoping, mobilisation of contractors to site, field work, and technical report and database reviews
  • Assist with delivery of technical biodiversity information to internal stakeholders (Approvals, site HSE, Projects, Water Planning and Planning and Technical teams)
  • Assist in maintaining the biodiversity database
  • Support other environmental activities and initiatives as directed by the business.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following work experience:

  • Between 3 -5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related field
  • An understanding of biological survey coordination (experience would be highly regarded)
  • Awareness of health and safety frameworks that relate to mobilisation and management of contractors in a mining environment
  • Awareness of relevant WA Environmental Protection Authority technical and environmental factor guidelines relating to Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Awareness of the WA state and federal environmental approvals process
  • Demonstrated experience using ARC GIS software


Ideal candidates must also hold the following prerequisites:

  • Provide a current National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one
  • Provide a current Drivers Licence
