Chandler Macleod is working along side our amazing client in Dandenong South to get experienced auto mechanics, to fill our permanent roles.
The Workshop Mechanical Fitter is responsible for providing support in workshop for scheduled maintenance and repairs of company plant & equipment for the local operations business unit. The objective is to achieve and maintain the highest standard of plant & equipment, reliability, availability and compliance to the appropriate company and regulatory standards. At all times ensure there is a safe working environment, prior to any work commencement within the workshop.

Ensure all relevant safety and environmental policies, systems and standards of work are adhered to. Ensure all work is conducted within industry legislative standards and company information management systems.
Work collaboratively within the workshop team. Participates and shares information/knowledge in team discussions to enable the achievement of business goals and customer satisfaction. Maintain open communication and effectively communicates with team members and contractors. Understand the different communication mediums and technology to utilise (i.e. Intranet, internet, in house systems).
Accountability for quality of all maintenance, repair standards and safe working practices within the workshop.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, night shift and be able to work away from home when required.
Advise the Mechanical Foreperson of additional repair work or damages identified during performing other repairs.
To ensure that the functions within the workshop meet the agreed targets and deadlines and that work is carried efficiently.
Provide daily, effective and efficient work order documentation to the Mechanical Foreperson.

Education & Qualifications: Trade Certificate with at least 5 years post trade experience in civil, road transport, mining or similar industry.
Experience: Excellent diagnostic knowledge and ability to relay technical information. Experience in hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems, including hydrostatic drives.

Skills & Knowledge: High levels of verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with a wide variety of people. High attention to detail and effective time management skills.
The ability to interpret both electrical and hydraulic schematics and diagrams.
The ability to identify and interpret equipment manuals for the disassembling and reassembling equipment and associated components
Personal Attributes: Results orientated including the ability to meet deadlines and changes in priorities, in order to achieve required service levels. Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Self-motivated team player who has the ability to work collaboratively within a team and share knowledge.
