The Water Delivery team is responsible for the smooth operation of our water delivery and drainage services, including water storage management and seasonal supply forecasting. This means delivering the right amount of water at the right times without service interruptions & supporting other business areas who contribute towards this customer-centric outcome.

Automation and Control Operators are responsible for scheduling and reliably delivering water orders using automated channels, gates and delivery technology so that water is supplied to each of MI's customers in the right quantities and at the right times within the system to provide a reliable and efficient service to our customers.

Purpose of the role

To plan and monitor daily water orders, operate automated supply and drainage systems and support the Water Delivery Technicians whilst ensuring efficient MI-wide water resource availability that meets customer requirements in a safe, compliant and cost-effective manner.


Skills and Experience

  • Ability to think safety first and understanding of why this is important
  • Ability to contribute as part of One-Team MI whilst consistently aligning personal behaviours with MI values
  • Experience in control or operating systems with the ability to analyse data and information effectively to improve processes and efficiency. Experience in SCADA control systems may be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problems solving skills, incl. ability to problem-solve together with stakeholders to achieve optimum outcomes.
  • Ability to encourage and promote innovation and excellence
  • Ability to use relevant computer applications
