Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Audit Committee Secretariat Officer on a contract for 3months with potential extension.

Position Overview

The Department is seeking an experienced Secretariat Officer at the APS6 (equivalent) Level to join the Audit and Assurance Committee Secretariat within Internal Audit Section in the Enterprise Risk, Audit and Investigations Branch.

Internal Audit is responsible for supporting the Audit and Assurance Committee function for the department.

As part of the Secretariat team, you will be expected to manage the secretariat for the department, including but not limited to the following duties:

  • Setting forward meeting agendas in consultation with the Chair.
  • Scheduling meetings, requesting papers, taking minutes and tracking action items.
  • Preparing complex correspondence, briefings, reports and meeting papers, including presentations and strategic issues papers.
  • Developing and maintaining Terms of Reference.
  • Maintaining meeting records in accordance with the department's record keeping policies, including maintaining relevant intranet sites.
  • Liaise with secretariats of other Boards and Committees as required.
  • Manage membership contracts.
  • The successful candidates should demonstrate:
  • Experience providing secretariat services.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and
  • The ability to operate with minimal supervision and work in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with working in a project environment or in a Secretariat role would be an advantage.

Security Clearance

  • Candidates must be Australian citizens
