Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Assistant Manager on a contract until 30/06/2022 months with potential extension of 24 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role will include the following duties:

  • Develop and manage key strategic relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to promote the agency business objectives, manage change and resolve conflict
  • Manage section competing priorities and strategic directions to successfully deliver section, division and agency scheme objectives and goals
  • Develop and maintain the quality of section outputs, including reporting and maintenance of employee skills and motivation, professional and/or technical expertise
  • Apply professional judgement to perform and communicate robust regulatory decisions, evaluating ambiguous and incomplete information, factoring in risks and being sensitive to context
  • Apply work knowledge, precedent and established legislation to develop policy, procedures and guidelines that can be applied to situations involving considerable complexity and sensitivity
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to identify regulation and compliance enhancement opportunities, achieve effective compliance outcomes and facilitate compliance cooperation among key stakeholders
  • Lead the preparation of complex/sensitive reports and briefs to Ministers, senior management and agency committees

Skills & Experience:

The successful Team Leader SPV will need to have the following experience and skills:

  • Experience in program management and contract management preferably in a regulatory operating environment
  • Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders to inform SPV program work including resolving or escalating risks and issues
  • Experience in project management and/or the development of monitoring programs
  • Experience providing supervision and support to staff
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills including attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, across teams and manage competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with government processes and record keeping practices

Mandatory Requirements:

The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
